As an experienced submissions reader, all too often Gaynor see pieces full of potential that could have gone further with just a little extra work. Join her for this 1-hour session where she’ll show you how she takes a story from first draft to final product. You’ll get lots of tips and suggestions for making your flash fiction the best it can be.

Gaynor Jones
Gaynor is the recipient of a 2020 Northern Writer’s Award from New Writing North in the Northern Debut category, for her short story collection Girls Who Get Taken & Other Stories. In 2020 she placed second in the Bridport Prize flash fiction category and was shortlisted for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award, and in 2019 she won first prize in the Bath Flash Fiction Award and third prize in the Anton Chekhov Award for Very Short Fiction. In 2018 she won the Mairtín Crawford Short Story Award at Belfast Book Festival and was named ‘Northern Writer of The Year’ at the Northern Soul Awards. Her novella-in-flash Among These Animals was published by Ellipsis in March 2021. She is represented by Laura Williams at Greene & Heaton.
